New Update for Thursday

Sorry it has taken so long for me to update. Yesterday I was exhausted...running on only 8 hours of sleep in a 3 day period, so I decided to sleep instead of blog. OK, so yesterday the EPI was stopped and a feeding tube was put in for feedings. Her heart meds were cut back, which resulted in a low heart rate. They did an EKG and everything looked ok. she had one dose of sedative because she was getting to restless and aggitated. Eric stayed with her last night so I could get some sleep.

Today -
They removed the breathing tube this morning and she is doing great breathing on her own. Heart rate was still a little slow and blood pressure began to climb. She got a lasic and was pee-ing like crazy, good thing there is a cath...that would be a lot of diapers! Did an x-ray of her chest to check her lung function after removing the tube. They saw some issues with fully inflating her lungs, so they put her on a c-pap to help her take deeper breaths. They also started some percussion treatments to help break up any mucus secretion in her lungs. Pray that works and she can come off that machine too! Finally got her blood pressure under control and it now matches her heart rate (which is still a little low). That's all I have for tonight. Today was rough, but they say the third day always is. Pray tomorrow is better! Thank you all for your prayers, support and well wishes this week!
Much Love!
Amy
