Peyton's Latest Cardiology Appointment

Well, Peyton had a cardiology appointment today. We did another echo and found no change. Her doctor wants to move ahead with the surgery. But now, Eric and I have thrown a wrench in the plan by wanting her to have her surgery at Texas Children's Hospital. Her current doctor works with Hermann Memorial, which is a great hospital, but does not have what we are looking for. As a result, he had to refer us to another cardiologist, which we will meet on the 26th. We will then proceed to deciding when to do her surgery. We feel very confident and at peace with our decision to change doctors. I feel our reasons are good. TCH has the facility we want our baby to be cared in, and why would we not want her in the best hospital in the state?! TCH also has a CVICU (Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit), this is desginated to just room cardio patients, instead of a generalized pediatric ICU. We felt that the quality of the nurses would be better if they specialized the the cardio field, rather than just the generalized nurse who deals with flu, rsv and other patients in an ICU. We will find out a better time line on the 26th. I will update again then! Continue to pray for our sweet little girl! Much Love!
