Today was a good day! The other IV and pacing wires were removed yesterday. X-rays still look good and her throat is healing very nicely. All her heart monitor leads were removed today, so now she can roam as she pleases. She is still being picky about what she eats, but we tried PediaSure with a straw tonight and she did well. We got 2 ounces down for a total intake today on 6 1/2 ounces...double what she took in yesterday. She is sitting up with no assistance and trying so hard to crawl, but doesn't have the strength yet. If she begins to drink more and increases her calorie intake, we should be able to get out of here soon. Unfortunately, we won't be headed home...her doctors want her to stay close until her first follow-up. They don't like their patients to be more than 30 minutes away till then. So, Peyton and I will be headed back to the Ronald McDonald House for about another 7-10 days. :( Whatever it takes to make sure she is fine! I am so ready to be back home...all together...as a family! Well, that's all for tonight.
Much Love!
Amy
